Optical Trigger
For power electronic measurements a reliable trigger signal is essential. Battery-powered converters always carry the risk of no longer functioning after the setup is prepared and testing is ready to start.
Our optical triggers use the port of the oscilloscope as their power supply and are therefore always ready to use.
Standby stage is indicated by a steady green light. Upon receipt of even a very-short trigger pulse, the color changes to orange for 25msec. This pulse is well recognized by the human eye.
Another purpose is to observe the signal integrity while performing noise immunity measurements. Using an optical fiber, no discharge path for unwanted interference is formed. Very good results were achieved using them for burst measurements.

Optical Fiber BNC Receiver
This is the easiest way to generate an electrical signal from a light signal. The fiber optic receiver tube fits on BNC connectors. A cable for 5Vdc supply is led out. The receiver unit supports the error input of the PMG 02A, but works on all BNC inputs with a 5 V signal level.

Optical Monitor Board
The Optical Monitor Board is an optically transparent 4-channel repeater. It converts digital light signals into electrical 5V logic level, and additionally visualizes by LEDs and parallel fiber optic channels. The fiber optical system is based on the Avago Versatile Link family. It is available in two data rates, 5MBaud and 10MBaud.
2x2-channel 5MBaud / 10MBaud optical monitor board
Originally intended for the evaluation of data traffic on half-bridge drivers that operate at high voltage level, it is also suitable for converting four independent light signals into electrical signals or to split up light signals.
As the information is optically decoupled, a second optical monitor can act as a four-channel receiver on user level. Alternatively any optical trigger can take over the reconversion. An additional power good channel reports health status information at high voltage level down to the user level.
